Ready for download off the Xbox Live Marketplace is a new 818MB Disney’s Bolt game demo. Feel the excitement?
For the uninformed, Bolt is yet another video game based on a movie by the same name that features a dog named Bolt (voiced by one John Travolta) who truly believes he’s a super hero dog. But no matter how good the movie may sound, the game will probably be trash thanks to long held tradition of movie based games turning out to be utter crud. That said, we love the movie’s hamster character named Rhino. Just watch the embedded video and you’ll see why.

We know you’re asking the same question: weren’t there two Kingdom Under Fire games on the original Xbox, and wasn’t there another spin-off on the Xbox 360 already? The answer to both of those questions is yes but, as Unreal Tournament and Resident Evil and Silent Hill have shown us, the traditional numbering conventions just don’t apply to video games anymore. It’s best just to let the confusion go. One thing that’s certain though, Kingdom Under Fire II looks fantastic. We have no idea how it actually plays, but a new in-game debut trailer proves that KUFII is packing some serious graphical muscle. Thousands of soldiers on screen, trolls, winged beasts, and even one positively giant creature at the end really deliver the feeling of a truly epic battle. Will it be any fun to play? We don’t know, but given the success of the series on Xbox (let’s not count Circle of Doom, mkay?), we cautiously optimistic. Check out the trailer after the break.

Eurogamer is reporting that Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has hinted that a RE5 demo announcement will be coming soon. Joy!
“We’ll be making an announcement about that relatively soon,” said Takeuchi when asked about the possibility of a RE5 demo being released. And we don’t think we have to tell you that we’d be all for a RE5 demo prior to launch. You know, because pre release demos make us happy. Very, very happy.

Microsoft has released a trailer for the New Xbox Experience, showing off the new interface and some of its features (all set to a zippy soundtrack, of course). For anyone that’s been following the NXE though, it’s mostly old hat. That is except for the brief glimpse of Primetime, the nifty live gameshow concept that was originally supposed to launch with the NXE but was then unfortunately delayed until early 2009. Other than that, the video pretty much screams, “Hey look! We have Avatars! We’re approachable too!” We’ll just have to wait and see if the message lands with the casual audience Microsoft hopes to woo.
The NXE, incidentally, lands next Wednesday.

According to the latest issue of Game Informer which is full of Halo 3: Recon info and deets, those who unlock all of the Halo 3 Vidmaster achievements will be awarded the (build suspense) Recon armor permutation. No joke! You can haz Recon!
All along, Bungie has hinted that those who earn the Halo 3 Vidmaster achievements will receive something of value and all along people have jokingly speculated that it would be Recon armor. Well, that’s exactly what it is, Recon armor. But don’t get too excited just yet, because all the Vidmaster achievements cannot be earned because there is a Vidmaster achievement tied to the Mythic Map Pack. So, possibly this February, you can haz Recon.
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

Installing games is definitely one of the more intriguing features of the New Xbox Experience. We’ve tested it. So has Eurogamer. When it comes right down to it, the performance increase (if any) varies wildly on a game by game basis. If only there was some central source we could check to see how well a game runs after it’s installed. If only there were some place where such information was arranged in an intuitive manner, alphabetically perhaps. Wait a minute! BingeGamer already put together a chart and it lists 360 games in alphabetical order! The chart also lists how big a footprint each game will leave on your HDD (Lost Odyssey is 23.2 gigs, yikes).
Not surprisingly, there are still plenty of games that haven’t been tested, so be sure to drop a comment at BingeGamer if you have some data about a game that isn’t listed yet. Big Bumpin’, sadly, isn’t supported, so don’t bother with that one.

Oh yes, the original Xbox in all its VCR-looking glory. She was a big beast, solid like a rock and had a controller (a Duke controller) that doubled as a serving tray. Yes, the launch of the original Xbox was a milestone for Microsoft and an important enough event to warrant its place at #8 in Time’s list of Top Ten Microsoft Moments.
Love it or hate it, the original Xbox was a necessary step for us to have our pride and joy, the Xbox 360. So, let’s take this Time sponsored opportunity to reminisce about the “glory” days. We ask, what are your memories of the original Xbox and do you miss the big guy?

Our compadres over at Joystiq took a gander through the Gears of War 2’s arcade that’s featured in the multiplayer map “Day One” and, not only did they grab a few screenshots, but they also analyzed the heck outta the entire setup. It’s a very informative arcade analysis. We advise you view what the Playland Arcade has to offer and whether or not you’re up for beating the high scores in “Murder Simulator”, “Malicious Delicious” or our GOTY pick “Carny Brawl”. Oh how we love our “Carney Brawl” …

If you live in or around the Seattle area, then you may want to make your way down to Qwest Field and the WaMu Theater on December 4th for the Seattle Sounders FC fashion show. You know, the same Seattle Sounders FC soccer team that is sponsored by Microsoft and Xbox 360.
The fashion show will be hosted by the team’s minority owner Drew Carey where they’ll debut the Founders’ Xbox 360 branded jerseys. Not only will the jerseys be on display, but other Founders merchandise will pranced down the catwalk, which we can only guess will be plastered with Xbox 360 logos. Other “A-list” celebs (maybe Major Nelson?) will be in attendance, drinks and light appetizers will be served and all money raised (including the $65 per ticket charge) will benefit the Children’s Research Institute and the Quest for a Cure Guild. So, if you’re in Seattle on December 4th, go register and go buy some Xbox 360 Seattle Sounders FC swag.
